WHCPA has 30,000 images in its digital library. They are currently being cross-referenced for future automated queries and retrieval at new computer workstations. Here is a sample photograph from the digital archives. All images, including over 2,000 restored photographs, were digitized by Scott Coltrane, a board member who resigned his position (and quit his job with a major corporation) to work under contract for one year. Upon completion of the scanning, Mr. Coltrane then formed a business called Digitize Your Heritage, offering the skills he had developed to other museums and organizations across the state. In December, 2006 he was invited to speak on the subject of digital photo restoration at the Blue Earth County Museum in Mankato. |
